Deekay Recruitment is partnering with a large organisation in the North East to hire a Senior Data Engineer. You will design, build and improve data infrastructure using Microsoft Fabric and Azure, delivering scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data models for analytics.

The role focuses on data quality, governance, and performance, with hands-on work on pipelines, warehouses and lakehouse architectures, and collaboration with stakeholders. Hybrid work in the North East is required.

Qualifications

Senior Data Engineer – Microsoft Fabric / Azure

£60,000 | 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract | North East | Hybrid

Deekay Recruitment is working with a large, established organisation in the North East to recruit an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join its Data & Technology function.

This is a hands‑on senior position with responsibility for designing, building and improving the organisation's data infrastructure. You'll work across modern Microsoft data technologies, developing scalable data pipelines, data models and warehouse/lakehouse solutions that provide reliable, high-quality data for analytics and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and build scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines from multiple data sources.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, data warehouses and lakehouse solutions.
• Work within a modern Microsoft/Azure data environment, including Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop datasets and models to support Power BI and analytics.
• Improve data quality, reliability, automation and performance.
• Contribute to data architecture and technical design decisions.
• Work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the team.
• Ensure appropriate data governance, security and GDPR standards are maintained.
