Job summary

Nottingham Building Society is seeking a Data Engineer to help build our new data platform on Microsoft Fabric and Azure. You will design, develop and operate scalable data solutions that support business insight, regulatory reporting, and advanced analytics, collaborating with data architects, analysts and stakeholders.

With hybrid working, minimum 2 days on site, you will implement Lakehouse architectures, CI/CD pipelines and secure data workflows to enable self-serve BI and trusted datasets

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Proficient in SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience building cloud-based data platforms (Azure).
• Knowledge of data modelling, ELT/ETL and Delta Lake is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build Our New Data Platform using Microsoft Fabric, Azure and Power BI.
• Develop Data Integration Solutions across internal and external systems.
• Engineer Modern Data Architectures: Lakehouse, Warehouse, Delta Lake.
• Deliver Analytics-Ready Data Assets for self-service BI and reporting.
• Champion DataOps & DevOps with CI/CD pipelines and IaC.
• Drive Data Quality, governance, lineage and security controls.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with Data Architects, Analysts and stakeholders.
