Job summary

Point72 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in London to join its Market Intelligence team. The role focuses on designing and delivering robust data pipelines and AI-ready assets, collaborating with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to enable data-driven decisions.

You will build scalable backend services, apply distributed processing with Spark, and leverage cloud platforms and orchestration tools to ship production-ready solutions while staying aligned with compliance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of strong experience in Python development.
• Experience with system design and leading multi-person development efforts.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark.
• Experience with building scalable APIs and backend infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with Airflow.
• Knowledge of LangChain or similar frameworks; embedding models and graph databases is a plus.
• Strong drive to stay current with AI advancements and translate them into practical applications.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch end-to-end data solutions including data pipelines, products and tools.
• Develop big data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and trends creation for AI-ready data assets.
• Create reusable software components, libraries, and APIs for rapid experimentation and production deployment.
• Implement data quality, lineage, and governance controls for compliant datasets.
• Build scalable, cloud-based infrastructure using distributed systems techniques.
• Benchmark and iteratively improve performance, cost, and reliability of systems.
