Job summary

Point72 Asset Management, L.P. is seeking a senior Data/Software Engineer to join the Market Intelligence team in London.

The role focuses on designing and delivering robust data pipelines, AI-ready datasets, and scalable backend services in a compliant, high-integrity environment. You will collaborate with investment professionals, researchers, and data scientists to implement end-to-end data solutions, leveraging Spark, Python, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of strong experience in Python development.
• Experience with system design and leading multi-person development efforts.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks like Spark.
• Experience with building scalable APIs, and software applications w/ focus on backend infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services for data storage and compute (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with orchestration technologies like Airflow.
• Knowledge of/langChain or similar frameworks, embedding models, vector, graph databases is a plus.
• Strong drive to stay current with AI advancements and translate into practical applications.
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and launch end-to-end business solutions including data pipelines, products, and tools.
• Develop big data processing pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and AI-ready data assets.
• Build reusable software components, libraries, and APIs for rapid experimentation and deployment.
• Implement data quality, lineage, and governance controls to ensure compliant datasets.
• Build scalable AI-native cloud infrastructure using distributed systems techniques.
• Optimize performance, cost, and reliability through benchmarking and iteration.
