Job summary

Mitie is seeking an experienced Data Centre Manager to lead the operational delivery of a critical data centre portfolio for a major UK banking client. This high-profile role requires leadership across multiple sites and a proven ability to operate within a highly regulated, 24/7 environment.

You will lead Technical Managers and a team of around 55–60 engineers, ensuring safe and reliable operation of power, cooling and M&E systems, and delivering strong stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Data Centre Manager or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience in critical, mission-critical environments.
• High voltage experience with an Authorised Person background.
• Experience managing large engineering teams across multiple sites.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing at senior level.
• Strong incident management, business continuity and operational resilience.
• Experience managing budgets, commercial performance, KPIs and SLAs.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational management of multiple data centres across Peterborough and Corby.
• Manage Technical Managers and ~55–60 engineers in a 24/7 critical environment.
• Take overall responsibility for critical infrastructure including power, cooling and M&E systems.
• Lead incident management, escalation processes and root cause analysis activities.
• Manage KPIs, SLAs, compliance requirements and operational performance.
• Maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders and specialist technical teams.
• Oversee project activity across the portfolio and minimise operational risk.
• Provide oversight of soft services including security, cleaning and waste management within the integrated facilities management model.
