Job summary

Sopra Steria near Salisbury is seeking a Data Centre IMAC Engineer to support a highly secure enterprise hosting environment. The role covers server installation, racking and cabling, and ongoing operations to keep critical infrastructure available.

Office-based in Salisbury four days per week with one day at home. You will engage with Change/Configuration Management and incident handling, and must be eligible for SC and DV clearance. Internal Recruiter: Jane.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Data Centre or IT infrastructure environment.
• Knowledge of server installation, racking, stacking and decommissioning.
• Experience with structured copper and fibre optic cabling.
• Understanding of switches, routers, patch panels and network connectivity.
• Ability to perform hardware installations, relocations and upgrades.
• Experience with Change Management and Configuration Management processes.
• Knowledge of ITIL and incident, problem and request management.
• Experience using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, add and change (IMAC) enterprise infrastructure.
• Rack, cabling, deploy and monitor server hardware environments.
• Support maintenance and operation of physical compute platforms.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver infrastructure changes.
• Work with Service Operations to resolve incidents and maintain availability.
• Manage assets and configuration records across approved systems.
• Support Change and Configuration Management processes.
• Assist with Data Centre operations across additional sites.
• Participate in on‑call rota and support out‑of‑hours activity.
