Job summary

Sopra Steria Ltd is seeking a proactive Data Centre IMAC Engineer to join our team near Salisbury. You will install, move, add and change enterprise infrastructure within a secure hosting environment, ensuring availability and alignment with business requirements.

You’ll work closely with project teams and Service Operations to deliver changes, manage assets, and participate in on-call duties. The role is office-based four days a week with one day home working, and requires SC/DV clearance

Qualifications

• Experience in data centre or IT infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of server hardware installation, racking and decommissioning.
• Experience with copper and fibre optic cabling.
• Understanding of network switches, routers, patch panels and connectivity.
• Familiarity with Change Management and Configuration Management processes.
• Knowledge of ITIL principles and incident, problem and request handling.
• Eligible for SC and DV security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install, move, add and change (IMAC) enterprise infrastructure.
• Rack, cable, deploy and monitor server and hardware environments.
• Support maintenance and operation of physical compute platforms and related systems.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver infrastructure changes.
• Resolve incidents with Service Operations and BAU teams to maintain service availability.
• Manage assets and configuration records across approved systems.
• Support Change and Configuration Management processes.
• Assist Data Centre operations across additional sites.
• Participate in on-call rota and support out-of-hours maintenance.
