Job summary

Databricks is seeking Senior Forward Deployed Engineers in London, operating hybrid. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development for production-grade solutions tied to customer value.

The role demands strong engineering depth, cloud experience, Spark and ML/AI familiarity, and superb communication to guide customers and cross-functional teams. Travel 20% expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering / full stack development.
• Comfortable writing code in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery, architecture, and reference implementations.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment, with client input.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable impact.
• Ensure security, scalability, and alignment with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
