Job summary

PACT Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Data Architect to shape the data architecture, platform and governance foundations for UK higher education partners. You will work across complex transformation programmes to move from fragmented data estates to coherent, secure and scalable data capabilities.

You will define target-state architectures and roadmaps, guide the design of modern cloud data platforms, and provide architectural assurance across data migration, governance and analytics

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Data Architect/Enterprise Data Architect in complex environments.
• Strong track record defining enterprise data architectures, roadmaps and governance.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Azure Fabric, OneLake, ADF, Databricks, Synapse).
• Deep data modelling capability across conceptual, logical and physical models.
• Experience designing data integration, migration, lakehouse or enterprise data platforms.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata, lineage, quality and Purview.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessments of current data landscapes and identify architectural gaps and risks.
• Define target-state architectures, roadmaps and data governance principles aligned with transformation plans.
• Develop data models and data domain designs across complex environments.
• Set standards for data products, data flows, metadata and lifecycle management.
• Design scalable cloud data platforms using Fabric, OneLake, ADF, Databricks and Synapse.
• Provide architectural assurance for data migration, legacy modernisation and migration to cloud services.
• Lead workshops with senior stakeholders and translate findings into actionable roadmaps.
• Coach teams in data architecture practices and contribute to proposals and bids.
