Job summary

Dow Jones Energy seeks a Senior Data Analyst to support commercial performance, revenue management, and product strategy. You will build financial models, develop cross-system reporting, and deliver dashboards for leadership visibility.

You will work with Excel, SQL, Python, and BI tools to transform data into actionable insights, partnering with Sales, Finance, and Product teams to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ professional experience in data analytics, commercial analytics, financial analysis, market research, or a related analytical role
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; including complex formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, nested logic, and data manipulation, VBA, Excel Macros, or Power Query
• Experience with Python (Pandas) and data analysis/automation, cloud data warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake/SQL Server) and BI platforms
• Experience with B2B data/information, industry analysis, and/or applied software products (highly desirable)
• Domain knowledge in chemicals/energy or related industries
• Interest to pursue a career in product management and leverage analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reporting for Book of Business (ACV, renewals, new business, win/loss) and build bottoms-up financial models
• Query, transform, and aggregate complex datasets across multiple sources using optimized SQL
• Establish data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance across core metrics
• Design and maintain Power BI/Looker Studio dashboards for product, sales, customer health, and financial KPIs
• Automate recurring processes using SQL, Python, Excel/VBA, and Power Query; explore AI/BigQuery solutions
• Synthesize product usage data into customer health scores and engagement metrics for Sales/Account Management
• Conduct product performance and pricing analyses to inform portfolio strategy
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Product, and leadership to align analytics with business priorities
