Job summary

Tem-Energy Limited is seeking a Staff Data Analyst embedded in the commercial team. You will own core metrics such as conversion rate, contracted volume, total sales, and margins, and drive forecasting, pipeline reporting, and partner performance analysis.

You will translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous analyses and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership, ensuring data-driven decisions across commercial activities.

Qualifications

• Solid SQL skills and experience investigating complex datasets across modern analytics stacks (e.g. dbt, Omni or similar BI tools).
• Forecasting/scenario modelling experience and ability to explain drivers behind variance from actuals.
• Ability to turn ambiguous stakeholder questions into well-defined analytical problems and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Proven experience building trusted metrics or reporting from messy or inconsistent data (CRM, transactional systems).
• Desirable: experience in energy, fintech, or another commercially complex, data-heavy sector.
• Desirable: Python for deeper statistical or data-quality work.
• Desirable: building metric frameworks that connect operational activity to commercial outcomes.
• Desirable: familiarity with CRM systems and parent-child/account hierarchy data structures.

Responsibilities

• Embedded day to day within the commercial team, responsible for core metrics that matter to the business - conversion rate, contracted volume, total sales, and margins.
• Forecasting, pipeline tracking and partner reporting, building on existing processes.
• Take ambiguous commercial questions, define the approach, and translate analysis into clear recommendations.
• Serve as the data voice for the commercial team, ensuring metrics are understood and trusted by stakeholders.
• Monitor the sales pipeline to prevent double-counting of revenue and misalignment of in-progress vs. won deals.
• Define and report forecast accuracy against annual targets and set standards for metric tracking.
