Job summary

Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Digital and Data directorate. The role focuses on using data to drive change, develop models and reports that reveal patterns and insights for informed decisions.

You will collaborate with Service and Product owners, explore data with diverse tools, and support delivery of new data services while upholding ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in mathematical training (e.g. statistics, maths, economics, sciences).
• Direct experience in mathematics/data analytics role.
• Evidence of one of the qualifications or be withdrawn from the process.

• Lead and support DVSA by using data analysis to create change and participate in the development of data models and reports to find patterns in data and transform them into organisational insight.
• Engage with Service and Product owners to understand and define their data analysis requirements and make recommendations to address complex problems to inform strategic and operational decision making.
• Explore existing and new data using a range of analytical tools and techniques, whilst ensuring you use data ethically and appropriately.
• Lead and participate in data analysis initiatives and support foundation work to implement plans for the delivery of new data services and solutions for the business.

Salary: £44,241 per annum

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

• Have a broad knowledge of data analysis techniques, use cases and potential impact, as well as the tools and technologies.
• The ability to handle and analyse large and complex sets of data.
• Have extensive experience in scoping, designing and delivering data analytical outputs and products.
• Work collaboratively with a range of experts in support of organisational objective.s

Qualifications

• Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a subject containing formal mathematical training (e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Sciences, Business Studies etc) or;
• Have relevant and direct experience in a mathematics/data analytics role.
