Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited seeks a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead the operation, optimization and continuous improvement of cyber security technologies and services, reducing risk with effective controls and security-by-design practices.

The role operates in a hybrid office model at London Gatwick, requiring three days in the office and two days remote, aligned to business needs. You will drive governance, assurance and remediation across complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Technical expertise across network monitoring, intrusion detection, and security of web, wireless & cloud.
• Experience with content filtering and secure web gateways.
• Experience with MITRE ATT&CK frameworks and threat modelling.
• Designing, implementing and operating complex security solutions across cloud, endpoint and hybrid environments.
• Experience managing Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions.
• Integrating security controls across endpoint, network, identity and data layers.
• Strong understanding of security controls across Cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid environments.
• Excellent communication of complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and reporting for audits, governance and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Own cyber toolsets, configuration and lifecycle management, aligning with strategic investments in Gatwick defenses.
• Define and maintain security standards for technical controls.
• Act as the security SME in IT and business projects, ensuring security requirements are defined and implemented.
• Oversee vulnerability and exposure management across Gatwick systems.
• Governance and remediation oversight to reduce risk and close exposures.
• Support the Cyber Technical Assurance Programme with reviews, testing and assurance.
• Support risk assessments and threat modelling sessions.
• Coordinate penetration testing: planning, execution, tracking and remediation.
• Provide security oversight for AI tools, ensuring appropriate controls and monitoring.
