Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to lead the operation, optimisation and continuous improvement of security technologies across hybrid environments. You will own toolsets, set standards and act as the security SME on IT and business projects.

The role requires cloud/endpoint security expertise, threat modelling, and strong communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A flexible, office-first hybrid model supports collaboration and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with enterprise security engineering.
• Strong understanding of security controls in cloud/hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Owns Cyber Toolsets, configuration and lifecycle management; input into strategic investments for security.
• Define and maintain security standards for technical controls.
• Lead cyber security SME in IT and business projects; ensure security requirements are defined and implemented.
• Manage and improve Vulnerability and Exposure Management (CTEM) across Gatwick systems.
• Provide governance and oversight of remediation to reduce risk and close exposures.
• Support the Cyber Technical Assurance Programme: security reviews, control validation, pen testing, purple teaming and design assurance.
• Support risk assessments and threat modelling sessions.
• Oversee the penetration testing programme; plan, execute, track, remediate per risk priorities.
• Provide security assurance for AI and Generative AI technologies; ensure appropriate controls.
