VIQU IT Recruitment is partnering with a leading global professional services organisation to appoint a Senior Cyber Security Analyst in Glasgow on a full-time basis. The role combines hands-on incident response, threat monitoring and security control assurance, with the opportunity to act as a technical SME for the wider cyber security team.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Cyber Security/IT with a senior analyst or SME level.
• Hands‑on knowledge of security technologies including SIEM, firewalls, DLP and endpoint detection/protection.
• Strong understanding of security incident management, threat analysis and practical use of cyber security tools.
• Experience with security metrics, KPIs and SLAs, and communicating technical information to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps and ITSM platforms including ServiceNow or Cherwell is beneficial.
• Cyber Security qualifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+ or CISSP are desirable rather than essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee security monitoring activities using SIEM and other technologies to identify threats and incidents.
• Lead investigations into complex security incidents, coordinating containment, root cause analysis and remediation.
• Analyze security logs, network traffic and threat intel to identify patterns and emerging threats.
• Lead security control testing including vulnerability scanning and security assessments.
• Provide technical security guidance to IT teams and stakeholders when introducing or changing systems.
• Act as cyber security SME for the analyst team, support workload prioritisation and mentoring of juniors.
• Maintain high-quality security documentation and reporting aligned with ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements.
