Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Commercial Credit Risk Oversight Lead Manager to drive the oversight strategy for Commercial Lending Credit Risk. You will engage with senior leaders, influence critical decisions, and provide independent challenge while maintaining hands-on risk oversight.

You will shape quality assurance activities, foster cross-functional collaboration, and mentor colleagues to strengthen risk governance across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Commercial Lending Credit Risk in either risk line.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders including Directors and Chiefs.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex risk clearly.
• Capable of providing independent challenge to risk decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual planning and delivery of the Commercial Credit Risk Oversight strategy.
• Set strategic direction for Commercial Lending Quality Assurance activities.
• Attend and contribute to the Commercial Lending Credit Risk Committee with insights.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure risks are understood and managed.
• Share knowledge and coach colleagues across the organisation.
