Join the Close Brothers Risk Team, where you will be responsible for building, testing, implementing, and maintaining new business strategies within our credit decisioning systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing credit acquisition strategies, including setting credit and affordability policies, utilizing bureau data, and working with credit systems. Proficiency in coding and data analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects, or similar is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze credit acquisition strategies to provide insights and recommendations to improve decisioning strategies.
• Build and test new credit risk strategies, policies, scorecards, and orchestrations within Close Brothers Powercurve systems.
• Support projects related to credit risk and affordability by providing analysis and developing requirements.
• Define detailed requirements for changes to credit and orchestration strategies.
• Execute testing, support defect resolution, and liaise with IT, Change, and testing teams.
• Develop and support governance procedures for ongoing strategy development, change control, and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Experience in designing and implementing credit acquisition strategies, including setting policies and working with bureau data and credit systems.
• Strong knowledge of credit bureau data, systems, and related processes.
• Analytical mindset for investigating complex issues systematically.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to senior management and non-credit colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting and mentoring others.
• Proven experience in a credit risk role within financial services.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Experience with Experian Powercurve/SDS systems.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations.
• Experience with credit risk decision systems, change management, and governance.
• Understanding of credit scorecards in retail or commercial contexts.
• Experience in underwriting, credit bureau data, and business accounts.
• Strong understanding of credit risk across the lifecycle.
