Job summary

Bidwells in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join our Central Finance team. You will lead hands-on credit control, own debt collection, and partner with stakeholders to improve cash flow.

As the role grows, there is a clear path to formal management of two team members, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in debt recovery and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive credit control experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
• Proven track record of debt recovery.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organisational abilities with multiple priorities.
• Willingness to develop into team leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage collection of overdue debts across a diverse client portfolio.
• Take ownership of complex high-value debtor accounts.
• Build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure timely payments.
• Investigate and resolve disputed debts.
• Issue statements and maintain collection records.
• Identify potential bad debt and co-operate with Finance Ops Director to minimise risk.
• Review and approve new client credit applications.
• Ensure cash receipts are allocated accurately within NetSuite.
• Support junior team members with guidance.
• Assist with process improvements, reporting and projects.
