Job summary

Rutherford Briant in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Credit Controller to own the credit control function and manage a portfolio of customer accounts. You will proactively chase aged debt, negotiate payment plans and help improve cash flow across the business.

The role reports to the Finance Director and requires strong Excel and ERP experience, with exposure to SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or Sage. Salary £38,000–£40,000 with a discretionary bonus and pension scheme.

Qualifications

• As a Senior Credit Controller, you will need substantial experience in credit control, debt collection and credit risk management.
• You should have strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or Sage.
• Experience in accounts receivable roles and ownership of credit processes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, proactively chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged balances.
• Contact customers by telephone, email and written correspondence, negotiating payment plans and resolving delays.
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, queries and discrepancies with Sales, Operations and Customer Service.
• Allocate and reconcile incoming payments, maintain accurate records and produce aged debt reports.

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a role where you can take ownership of a portfolio, reduce aged debt and play a key role in improving cash flow?

An established organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Credit Controller to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to take ownership of the credit control function, manage complex customer accounts and contribute to the ongoing development of credit processes across the business.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Credit Controller, you will

• Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, proactively chasing outstanding debt and reducing aged balances
• Contact customers by telephone, email and written correspondence, negotiating payment plans and resolving payment delays
• Investigate and resolve invoice disputes, payment queries and account discrepancies, working closely with Sales, Operations and Customer Service
• Assess customer creditworthiness, monitor payment trends and recommend appropriate credit limits and actions to minimise bad debt exposure
• Allocate and reconcile incoming payments, maintain accurate customer records and produce aged debt and collection performance reports

Requirements

As a Senior Credit Controller, you will need

• Previous experience in a Senior Credit Controller, Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of credit control, debt collection and credit risk management
• Strong Excel and finance systems experience, ideally with exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics or Sage
