Job summary

BPA is seeking a field-based Senior CP specialist to oversee cathodic protection and corrosion control on pipelines, terminals and high-hazard sites across the UK. You will monitor, inspect and maintain CP equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while coordinating with the Integrity Team and contractors.

You will lead CP operations, troubleshoot faults, and document findings with accuracy, contributing to asset integrity and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior CP knowledge and industry standards.
• Experience in corrosion management or CP operations.
• Strong data interpretation and database skills.
• Ability to prepare and update drawings and technical reports.
• Good communication and organisation; able to work across multiple sites.
• Aptitude to learn and develop through training.
• ICORR qualification funded.

Responsibilities

• Carry out monitoring, inspection and testing of CP systems, ensuring compliance with BPA procedures.
• Manage day-to-day CP operations, data collection and CMMS records.
• Act as on-site CP specialist, liaising with landowners and contractors.
• Diagnose CP faults, perform repairs and specialist surveys (CIPS, DCVG, PCM, AC/DC tests).
• Coordinate with Integrity Team to optimise CP performance.
• Maintain technical records, drawings and reports.
• Identify opportunities to improve CP and roll-out new procedures.
