Job summary

British Pipeline Agency Limited is seeking a CP Technician to join the Operations team on a home-based role travelling the South Region.

You will provide field-based technical support for cathodic protection and corrosion control across pipelines, terminals and high-hazard sites, performing monitoring, inspections and maintenance in line with BPA procedures. The role offers training, progression, and a competitive package including overtime and benefits.

Qualifications

• Senior CP role requires strong CP principles and industry standards.
• Experience in corrosion management or CP operations in pipelines, terminals or other high-hazard environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot CP issues and interpret technical data.
• Proficiency with databases, GIS and CMMS systems.
• Ability to prepare, interpret and update drawings, maps and technical reports.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; able to work independently on multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out monitoring and testing of CP systems across BPA's pipelines, terminals and high-hazard sites.
• Manage day-to-day CP operations: data collection, validating survey results, updating CP databases and CMMS records.
• Act as on-site CP specialist, liaising with landowners, contractors, operations teams and engineers.
• Troubleshoot CP faults, perform repairs, install replacement equipment and conduct specialist surveys (CIPS, DCVG, PCM, AC/DC tests).
• Coordinate with Integrity Team to resolve issues and optimise CP performance.
• Maintain accurate technical records, drawings and reports for asset integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve CP performance and roll out improved procedures.
