Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Birmingham team, delivering high‑profile infrastructure across the UK with travel to Cambridge, Bedford, Peterborough, Milton Keynes and beyond.

In this role you will lead commercial management across the project lifecycle, manage NEC contracts, oversee post‑contract activities, and engage with clients and contractors to drive value. A chartered MRICS pathway and global consultancy support are available.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in quantity surveying, procurement, and/or estimating on large-scale infrastructure.
• Degree-qualified with MRICS or working towards it.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and infrastructure cost management.
• Collaborative and proactive communicator.
• Willingness to travel with site travel balancing workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial management across the project lifecycle.
• Manage contracts and procurement, especially NEC frameworks.
• Oversee post-contract activities: payments, changes, cost control.
• Engage with clients and contractors to ensure transparency.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and drive performance.
• Provide data-led insights for strategic decisions.
• Prepare estimates from early forecasts to detailed cost plans.
