Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Midlands team, delivering high-impact infrastructure projects across airports, utilities and transport with travel opportunities.

This role offers a clear path toward chartership, with exposure to NEC contracts, cost management tools and a global cost consultancy network. Notable collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in quantity surveying on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Degree-qualified; MRICS or working towards it; NEC contracts knowledge.
• Strong procurement, estimating and contract management experience.
• Ability to balance site travel with flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial contracts, procurement and negotiations in an NEC environment.
• Lead post-contract activities: payments, cost assessments and contract changes.
• Support contractors with transparent cost-saving strategies and performance optimization.
• Provide data-driven cost management insights for key decisions.
• Be an integral part of a team accountable for commercial/contractual performance of projects.
• Support delivering value for money across the programme.
• Carry out duties efficiently following prescribed processes and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality standards.
• Lead and/or participate in the selection, appointment and management of contractors.
• Manage procurement processes: tenders, queries, interim payments, certificates and change control.
• Produce cost reports and forecasts; support Early Warnings, Instructions and Compensation Events.
• Attend progress meetings; promote commercial awareness and assist in dispute resolution when required.
