Job summary

RLB is seeking a Senior Cost Manager in Birmingham with a strong Quantity Surveying background to lead cost planning, pre- and post-contract activities across diverse projects. The role emphasizes proactive delivery, client management, and adherence to established procurement strategies.

The successful candidate will work within our Cost Management department, benefiting from hybrid working arrangements and a commitment to professional development, APC mentoring, and collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in Pre-Construction cost planning and estimating.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Strong technical delivery experience.
• Ability to manage complex projects proactively and diligently.
• Feasibility and cost planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned duties efficiently in line with processes and procedures.
• Comply with Commercial, Procurement, and Contractual strategies.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.
• Cost Planning including indicative budgets and cost plans.
• Run a competitive tender process including managing queries from tendering contractors.
• Pre and Post Contract Quantity Surveying.
• Support dispute resolution & close out strategy as required.
