Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd. seeks a Principal Cost Estimator for a Barrow-in-Furness role in a major defence organisation. The position supports estimating services across bid, contract and project phases, with a strong focus on accuracy and value creation.

The role is hybrid (2–3 days per week in Barrow) and pays £81.05 per hour umbrella inside IR35 on a 12 month contract. You will guide junior staff and contribute to financial strategy and risk assessment.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding of estimating skills and the commercial role.
• Experience in estimating activities and responsibilities.
• Ability to prioritise workload and deliver in a timely manner.
• Ability to produce accurate work with attention to detail.
• Good understanding of BAe Systems commercial and estimating policy.
