Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to support reporting, forecasting and financial control on a major nuclear programme at Sizewell C. This permanent role is hybrid, based in London with travel to Ipswich every other week.

You will bring significant experience in cost engineering and project controls, with ability to interpret financial data and report to senior stakeholders. The role offers exposure to a high-profile infrastructure project and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cost engineering, cost management or project controls.
• Strong expertise in cost reporting, forecasting and budget management.
• Experience in cost assurance and project performance analysis.
• Understanding of financial reporting on major projects and complex programmes.
• Ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders.

• Managing project cost reporting, forecasting and budget control.
• Preparing accurate financial reports and performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Supporting cost assurance activities and identifying financial risks, trends and opportunities.
• Monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, forecasts and project objectives.
• Working closely with project controls teams to maintain robust cost management processes.
• Providing clear cost information and insight across a large, complex programme.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer to support the reporting, forecasting and financial control of a major nuclear programme at Sizewell C. This permanent role will suit an experienced cost professional with a strong background in cost management and project controls within complex infrastructure environments. This is a hybrid role based out of London but will require the individual to travel to Ipswich every other week.

You will need to be eligible to obtain a level of security clearnace for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing project cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
• Preparing accurate financial reports and performance analysis for senior stakeholders
• Supporting cost assurance activities and identifying financial risks, trends and opportunities
• Monitoring expenditure against approved budgets, forecasts and project objectives

Job Requirements

• Significant experience in cost engineering, cost management or project controls
• Strong expertise in cost reporting, forecasting and budget management
• Experience in cost assurance and project performance analysis
• Understanding of financial reporting on major projects and complex programmes
• Experience working alongside project controls teams
• Ability to interpret and communicate financial data clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders
• Experience within nuclear, energy, rail, aviation, utilities, highways, defence or another major infrastructure sector
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
