Job summary

Arcadis UK is seeking a Senior Cost Consultant to lead cost management across major highway and aviation projects. Based in Manchester with 2-3 days on site, you will manage workstreams, review budgets, and advise on risks and opportunities while mentoring junior colleagues and coordinating with clients and contractors.

The role requires strong technical capability, governance, and the ability to influence project teams to deliver high value commercial outcomes for a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cost management across rail, highway, aviation or infrastructure.
• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and compensation events.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues.
• Strong stakeholder management with clients, contractors and partners.
• Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying; Chartered status (RICS) preferred.
• CSCS card holder or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management activities across small to medium schemes from inception to completion.
• Prepare, manage and present cost plans, budgets, estimates and financial reports.
• Review and analyse complex commercial data to identify risks and opportunities.
• Coach junior team members to develop capability and delivery standards.
• Track budgets and variances within governance and financial systems.
• Advise on risk management, compliance and assurance matters.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote best practice.
• Engage with clients, provide updates, resolve issues and identify value opportunities.
