Job summary

Arcadis, a world-leading design and consultancy firm, seeks a Senior Cost Consultant based in or operating from our UK offices in Manchester, Birmingham, York or Leeds. The role combines site engagement (2–3 days a week) with oversight of cost management across major Highway and Aviation programmes in the Mobility Commercial team.

You will manage multiple workstreams, develop cost plans, budgets, and reports, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliant, high-quality commercial outcomes for

Qualifications

• 8+ years in delivering cost management across rail, highway, aviation or wider infrastructure.
• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and compensation events.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues with leadership capability.
• Strong stakeholder management with clients, contractors and external partners.
• Qualified or chartered status and CSCS card holder or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management activities across small to medium schemes or defined packages within larger programmes.
• Prepare, manage and present cost plans, budgets, estimates and financial reports with accuracy.
• Review complex commercial data to identify risks, opportunities and trends and provide recommendations.
• Coach and support junior team members to develop capability and maintain high delivery standards.
• Track budgets, monitor expenditure and manage variances within governance systems.
• Provide advice on risk management, compliance and assurance matters.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote best practice across projects.
• Engage proactively with clients, provide updates, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to enhance value.
