Job Title: Senior Controls Systems Engineer
Location: Slough (On-site & Home working)
Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week + Overtime

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Controls Systems Engineer to join our team at Actemium Automation. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled individual with a strong background in control systems engineering who thrives in a mixed working environment (on-site and remote).
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, testing, and commissioning of control systems, working closely with both our valued clients and internal teams to ensure exceptional project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Testing: Lead and manage the design, review, and testing of control systems to ensure they meet customer requirements and comply with industry legislation.
Customer & Team Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and effective project execution.
System Commissioning: Design, test, and commission control systems in line with agreed specifications, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
Onsite Support: Oversee onsite commissioning and testing of control systems, ensuring adherence to site-specific regulations and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Supervise and provide technical guidance to system design, build, and installation teams.
Project Support: Support Project Managers with project planning, effort estimation, and tracking of project progress.
Tendering & Proposals: Contribute to the tendering process by providing cost estimates and creating technical proposals.
Process Improvement: Proactively identify and implement improvements to internal processes, ensuring efficiency across projects.
Mentorship: Serve as a technical expert in nominated fields, offering mentorship and support to junior engineers.
Key Knowledge & Skills:
Qualifications: HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant discipline (at least 10 years of experience in systems integration, or 15+ years with lower qualifications).
Experience: Extensive experience in PLC-based control system architecture and programming (PLC, HMI, SCADA).
Systems Integration: Expertise in industrial control systems, including control panel design, C&I system design, and commissioning.
Compliance: Strong knowledge of machinery safety design and compliance with relevant industry standards.
Onsite Commissioning: Experience in the onsite commissioning of complex industrial control systems.
Preferred Sectors: Experience in the Food, Pharmaceutical/Fine Chemical, and Material Handling/Logistics industries is highly advantageous.
