Job summary

SSE PLC is seeking a Senior Contract Manager to lead commercial management for our renewables portfolio. You will drive procurement strategies, negotiate contracts and oversee supplier performance to secure long‑term value and cost efficiency.

Based in Glasgow or Perth with a flexible pattern, the role reports to the Procurement & Commercial Manager and supports KPI delivery across asset management activities in wind, solar and battery projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Commercial Management or related discipline; MRICS/MCIPS advantageous.
• Significant experience in procurement, commercial/contract management within regulated sectors.
• Proven experience leading complex procurement, negotiations and contract management with risk and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial and contract management strategies for the operational portfolio.
• Lead end‑to‑end procurement and sourcing activities, including tender documentation and bid evaluation.
• Provide commercial leadership on renewals, retendering and service model development.
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities; provide evidence‑based recommendations.
• Build and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive performance and value.
• Act as commercial lead for contracts, managing changes, claims and disputes where needed.
• Drive continuous improvement in contract management governance and supplier management.
