Job summary

Pulse Healthcare seeks a Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry for a full-time post in Northamptonshire. You will lead senior clinical care for adults with learning disabilities, conduct assessments, and plan treatment with a multidisciplinary team under the Mental Health Act.

As a Section 12 approved clinician, you will supervise junior doctors, ensure high standards of care, and collaborate across services within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

• Experience as Consultant in Learning Disabilities Psychiatry.
• Section 12 Approved Clinician status required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and psychiatric care for individuals with learning disabilities and associated mental health conditions
• Act as an Approved Clinician and hold Section 12 approval, undertaking responsibilities related to detention, treatment, and discharge planning under the Mental Health Act
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, psychology, social care, and primary care professionals
• Supervise and support junior medical staff and trainees
