Job summary

Binnies is seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead day-to-day on-site activities, coordinating diverse teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to a high standard. You will drive planning, quality control and collaborative working across Project Managers, Design, Commercial and SHEQ teams.

You will champion safety and build strong relationships, ensuring site records are maintained and issues escalated promptly. A UK driving licence and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing construction activities and site teams within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or similar.
• A recognised construction management qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 6) or equivalent.
• CSCS Black Manager Card or working towards an equivalent.
• SMSTS and First Aid at Work qualifications.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety, safe systems of work, risk management and CDM 2015.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day on-site activities, coordinating site teams and subcontractors to align with programme.
• Prioritise health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring safe systems of work and risk controls.
• Plan and coordinate availability of people, plant, materials and information.
• Ensure work meets quality standards with inspections and defect resolution.
• Monitor progress against programme and mitigate delays with the project team.
• Build strong relationships with Project Managers, Design, Commercial, Planning and SHEQ teams.
• Coordinate access, logistics, permits, welfare, traffic, and interfaces with clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports and documentation.
• Support commercial delivery by escalating changes and potential cost impacts.
• Contribute to sustainability goals by identifying waste and carbon reduction opportunities.
• Assist handover and demobilisation planning, and drive continuous improvement.
