Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is seeking a Site Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major infrastructure project in Birmingham. You will lead daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors and ensure work complies with safety and project standards.

The role requires proven site management experience on large-scale projects, strong leadership and excellent communication to liaise with Project Managers, engineers and commercial teams on site.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering major civil engineering, infrastructure or large-scale construction projects.
• Experience on rail, highways, infrastructure, heavy civil engineering or major projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work fronts and subcontractors.
• Strong programme and resource management capabilities.
• Proficient in site reporting and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor progress against programme and proactively address potential delays.
• Conduct site inspections, quality checks and health & safety audits.

• Maintain site records, reports and documentation.
• Chair site meetings and toolbox talks.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and commercial teams to achieve project objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and the wider project team.
• Assist with short-term planning and resource allocation
