Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large civil and contractor-based projects in the UK. You will direct the project team, interface with clients, manage scope, schedule, cost, and quality, and drive safe, on-time delivery across disciplines.

You will champion Mercury's Zero Harm culture, promote digital tooling, and oversee weekly planning, audits, and reports. Essential criteria include an engineering degree and 10+ years' experience delivering major construction programmes.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or recognised trade qualification.
• 10+ years’ experience managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
• Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.
• Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly meetings with your team, design team and client to set direction and drive deliverables.
• Implement Mercury Project Audit Plan and manage closure of findings.
• Champion Mercury's EHS/Zero Harm culture and ensure proactive risk management across projects.
• Ensure Mercury Procedures are understood and adhered to, including digital delivery, BIM and project control procedures.
• Attend Client meetings and develop executive-level client relationships for delivery performance.
• Provide training and mentorship for project teams and subcontractors.
• Review weekly progress with project planner and issue monthly executive reports on programme, safety, quality and cost.
