Job summary

NG Bailey Group Limited seeks an experienced Senior Buyer to lead procurement activities for major engineering and construction projects. You will drive strategy through delivery, securing best overall value with suppliers and sub-contractors, while working closely with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in operational buying or procurement.
• Experience procuring high-volume and high-value material and subcontract packages.
• Procurement experience in building services, engineering, MEP, or construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities across projects and business areas.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with objectives.
• Manage competitive tendering, supplier negotiations, and package procurement.
• Lead supplier performance reviews and improvement plans.
• Ensure suppliers meet SLAs and contractual commitments.
• Identify opportunities for volume aggregation and value engineering.
• Build strong relationships with strategic supply chain partners.
• Produce and manage procurement plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams to align procurement with programme.
• Lead procurement review meetings and drive timely completion.
• Support mobilisation with supplier SLAs and targets.
• Provide procurement market intelligence throughout the lifecycle.
• Establish and manage project procurement savings targets.
• Maintain savings trackers and report to stakeholders.
• Deliver cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Contribute procurement data to dashboards and reports.
• Support bid teams with procurement insights and market intelligence.
