Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major construction projects in the South East, from inception to completion, reporting to the Contracts Manager. You will lead project teams, manage risk, ensure safety, quality, programme and commercial performance, and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across planning, design, commercial and operations.

The role requires a degree, CSCS, and a track record on schemes over £20 million; defence sector

Qualifications

• Experience delivering construction projects as a Senior Project Manager on schemes valued over £20 million.
• Degree (or equivalent) and valid CSCS card; CITB Level 3 Safety qualification.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent commercial, financial, and contractual awareness.
• Technical knowledge to identify risks and deliver outcomes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Defence sector experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience administering NEC contracts with disciplined programme and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme, cost, and contractual requirements are achieved.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders and drive collaboration across planning, design, commercial, and operations.
• Proactively identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, challenging delivery programmes and reviewing methods/materials to maximise outcomes.
• Work with planning, design management, commercial, and document control teams to achieve best project outcomes and strong customer aftercare.
• Lead, mentor, and develop project teams through leadership, performance reviews, and coaching.
