Job summary

Value Added Recruitment Ltd in Bracknell is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join a respected organisation in the construction testing and major account management arena. You will lead senior client engagements on large commercial projects, defining testing scopes and developing integrated commercial proposals.

This senior, individual contributor role focuses on major clients, complex testing packages, and long sales cycles, with uncapped commission and a competitive salary

Qualifications

• Experience with large, complex construction projects.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Experience selling technical, engineering or project-based services into construction.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit client sites.

Responsibilities

• Work with clients delivering large commercial construction and building projects.
• Attend sites and client meetings to understand project size, scope, programme and technical requirements.
• Identify and scope the compliance testing and associated technical services across the project.
• Understand plans and technical documentation to establish testing type and volume.
• Develop commercial proposals for large, complex testing packages.
• Support clients throughout the project lifecycle and adapt testing requirements as projects progress.
• Manage relationships with senior stakeholders including main contractors, developers, consultants and building services professionals.
• Collaborate with internal engineers and technical specialists to ensure testing programmes meet requirements.
• Navigate longer, more complex sales cycles involving major projects.
• Develop new opportunities through an established network within construction.
