Job summary

Bevan Brittan LLP is recruiting a Senior Associate to join its growing construction team in the non-contentious, transactional space, led by Andrew Tobin and Parveen Akhter. The role focuses on high-value construction projects and requires developing and strengthening client relationships while handling complex instructions.

You will draft and negotiate documents (JCT/NEC), advise on risk allocation, and coordinate with clients, funders and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in transactional construction work with drafting and negotiating JCT/NEC and related documents.
• Familiarity with collateral warranties and security documents like performance bonds and parent company guarantees.
• Maintaining a pragmatic, commercial approach to risk and providing clear, solutions-focused advice.
• Strong drafting skills and the confidence to engage with clients and counterparties.
• Ability to manage workload, take ownership, and support team collaboration.
• Proactive in business development and local networking.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on construction documents (JCT/NEC) and related agreements.
• Advising on risk allocation and bespoke contractual solutions.
• Managing transactions from instruction to completion with stakeholders.
• Keeping up to date with developments and contributing to know-how and training.
