Job summary

Bevan Brittan LLP in the UK is seeking a Senior Associate to join its nationally recognised construction team. You will focus on non-contentious, transactional projects and work closely with Andrew Tobin and Perveen Akhter to deliver high-value instructions.

You will draft, negotiate and advise on contracts (JCT/NEC), collateral warranties and security documents, manage transactions from instruction to completion, and help develop client relationships with developers, contractors and public

Qualifications

• Experience in transactional construction work, drafting and negotiating standard form contracts (JCT/NEC).
• Familiarity with collateral warranties and security documents such as performance bonds and parent company guarantees.
• Commercial approach to risk with clear, solutions-focused advice to clients.
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail; comfortable engaging with clients and counterparties.
• Ability to manage workload and take ownership while knowing when to seek support.
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute to a collaborative working environment.
• Strong communication and ability to build long-standing client relationships.
• Genuine interest in construction sector and regional clients including developers, contractors and public bodies.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and advise on construction documents (JCT/NEC), appointments, warranties, and security documents such as bonds and guarantees.
• Advise on risk allocation and bespoke contractual solutions.
• Manage transactions from instruction through to completion, coordinating with clients, counsel, funders, and stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with developments in construction law and contribute to know-how, training and client briefings.
