Job summary

Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment seeks a Construction Associate or Senior Associate (4+ PQE) to join a highly regarded Construction team advising on a broad range of high-quality built environment and real estate development projects.

You'll work with developers, investors, funders, occupiers and contractors across commercial, residential, mixed-use, logistics, regeneration and infrastructure developments, drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on procurement strategies, and supporting

Qualifications

• 4+ years' PQE in non-contentious construction law.
• Experience advising on built environment and real estate development matters.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience acting for developers, investors, funders, contractors, occupiers or public sector clients.
• Familiarity with industry-standard contracts such as JCT, NEC and FIDIC.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiating a wide range of construction documentation.
• Advising on procurement strategies and project delivery structures.
• Negotiating building contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and ancillary project documents.
• Supporting development, acquisition, disposal and financing transactions from a construction perspective.
• Providing commercially focused advice on risk allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams on major development projects.
