Job summary

Chadwick Nott is seeking a Construction Associate Director in Bristol to lead high-value non-contentious construction matters for major energy projects, including EPC, BOP and O&M contracts. The role involves negotiating with clients and leading a team of lawyers across multidisciplinary projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in non-contentious construction, strong negotiation skills, and a collaborative approach to drive growth within the team and firm.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in non-contentious construction (Associate Director level).
• Strong experience negotiating FIDIC and NEC based agreements, EPC and O&M contracts.
• Confidence leading negotiations and supervising junior lawyers.
• Experience working on complex, multi party matters, particularly within project finance structures.
• Excellent technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading on high value, complex non contentious construction matters.
• Drafting and negotiating EPC, BOP, supply and O&M contracts for renewable energy projects.
• Leading negotiation meetings and guiding client stakeholders through the process.
• Advising on procurement strategy, risk allocation and contract structure.
• Working with energy regulation, planning, real estate, corporate and project finance teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Providing contract management and operational phase support, including variations and claims management.
• Collaborating with the contentious construction team on defects, claims and dispute related matters.
• Acting for leading clients including developers, investors, utilities and energy operators.
• Supporting the wider team's growth strategy and contributing to business development.
