Job summary

Chadwick Nott is recruiting a Construction Associate Director in Bristol to lead complex non-contentious matters in the energy sector. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating EPC, NEC, FIDIC and O&M contracts for renewables, energy storage and grid projects.

You will collaborate with regulators, planning, real estate and project finance teams while guiding junior lawyers and stakeholders through negotiations on national energy infrastructure assignments.

Construction Associate Director - Bristol

Location: Bristol

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £90,000 to £120,000 (dependent on experience)

A highly regarded national non contentious construction team is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Associate Director to join its Bristol office. The role has a strong focus on energy and energy transition projects, offering exposure to market leading work and the opportunity to develop your own specialist practice.

The Role

You will take a senior role within the team, advising on complex construction matters across the energy sector, including:

• Drafting and negotiating EPC, BOP, supply and O&M contracts for renewables, energy storage, wind and grid stability projects
• Leading negotiation meetings alongside junior colleagues
• Guiding and managing client stakeholders throughout the negotiation process
• Providing procurement advice and legal project management
• Advising on FIDIC, NEC and bespoke construction agreements
• Working closely with energy regulation, planning, real estate, corporate and project finance teams
• Supporting clients throughout delivery and operational phases, including contract management, variations and defects advice
• Acting as part of wider project teams on national scale energy and infrastructure projects

You will work with a diverse client base including major developers, funders, energy companies and infrastructure operators.

The Team

The non contentious construction team operates nationally and continues to grow in line with the firm's strategic focus on energy and energy transition. The team comprises Partners, Legal Directors, Associate Directors, Senior Associates, Associates, Trainees and Paralegals across Bristol and London.

You will work closely with senior colleagues specialising in energy and infrastructure, supporting existing clients and contributing to the long term expansion of the practice.
