Job summary

Compass Group PLC is seeking a proactive Conference & Events Operations Manager to lead on-site events and ensure exceptional service across conferencing, events, and related catering operations at our venues in the UK. You will oversee front-of-house teams, support the General Manager with budgets, and collaborate with the retail cafe team as needed.

The role emphasizes stellar customer service, team motivation, and strong organisational skills, with a full-time commitment and shift coverage

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a similar position.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in hospitality or catering.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Positive, can-do attitude with a drive to develop and lead others.
• Experience in managing and motivating teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as a vital link between team and management to ensure high-quality service delivery of all conferencing and events on site.
• Support the General Manager with inventory, budgets, and operational planning for all events on site.
• Work alongside the Assistant General Manager to help in the retail cafe on site where required.
• Lead and motivate front-of-house teams, maintaining energy and focus.
• Assist with staff training and development.
• Take ownership of key admin and paperwork tasks.
• Uphold and represent the Compass Group UK&I brand professionally at all times.
