Job summary

Kingston University is seeking a Senior Technician - Computing to join the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and the Environment. The role focuses on providing technical expertise across computing laboratories and research environments to support world-class teaching and innovation.

You will deliver 2nd/3rd line support, develop laboratories, and maintain secure, reliable IT systems, including AI infrastructure and cloud platforms, for teaching and research activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to configure and support Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience with scripting or automation to improve workflows.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and security best practices.
• Ability to support teaching and research computing labs in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide second and third-line technical support across computing labs and environments.
• Maintain and develop specialist computing laboratories and research environments.
• Support AI infrastructure and cloud platforms used for teaching and research.
• Collaborate with academic staff, researchers and students to deliver practical teaching and lab enhancements.
