Job summary

Kingston University is seeking an EUC Analyst to join IT Services in Kingston upon Thames. You will support Windows and macOS platforms, manage EUC infrastructure, and maintain the application catalogue that supports teaching and research across the university.

Job description

High-performing End User Computing services are central to the user experience and IT services is at the heart of delivering digital services to over 20,000 students and 1,900 staff.

IT Services are looking to recruit a EUC analyst to work in the day-to-day development and management of Kingston’s EUC services and associated infrastructure. The focus of the role will be to support the Windows and macOS platform leads in delivering the respective services. The role will also play key part in maintaining the catalogue of applications that support the teaching and research activities carried out across the organisation.

The role will also assist in ensuring that the designs, standards, and policies are in place to ensure our EUC services are fit for purpose and fit for use, to enable the University deliver in its strategy enabled state-of-the-art Digital services.

You should have a strong technical background in supporting a range of EUC related technologies including virtual desktop infrastructure, desktop management, OS and application patching technologies, application delivery tools including application virtualization tools & digital experience tools.You should also have a strong skillset in supporting a wide range of hardware devices and software applications.

The successful candidate is likely currently in a second-line support role and is looking to further their career by moving into a third-line role and utilising the experience gained to have a wider organisational impact.

You will be a self-motivated, vibrant, and dynamic individual who is able to challenge and influence others, develop, and maintain collaborative working relations across IT and non-IT departments.

High level, proven interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and motivate internal teams and vendors alike.

You will be able to convey technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders at any level as well as building effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.

You should be a detail-oriented individual with a can-do attitude, capable of working in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality results. Strong organisational skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as is the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
