Job summary

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) is seeking a highly motivated Higher Scientist with a strong background in bioinformatics, data science and computational biology to drive data processing and analytical pipelines for complex -omics and imaging datasets.

You will work across disciplines to deliver impactful research and help translate leading-edge science into practical solutions for industry and government.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, data science, analytical chemistry, or an -omics discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to learn state-of-the-art in mass spectrometry imaging and related fields.

Responsibilities

• Share learnings and mentor those with less experience.
• Develop partnerships to strengthen capability.
• Act as an ambassador for our work externally and promote our activities.
• Provide technical support for bids we undertake.
