Job summary

National Physical Laboratory (NPL) invites applications for an experienced Higher Scientist in its Informatics group, within the Data Science & AI department. You will tackle data engineering challenges, develop semantic technologies and knowledge graphs, and contribute to impactful client projects across national and international partners.

You will collaborate with academic, industrial and governmental teams from multiple sites (Glasgow, Cambridge, or Teddington) with opportunities for travel.

Qualifications

• PhD (desirable) or equivalent in computer science, software engineering or related field.
• Proficient in Python/Java/C#, and working with relational databases and Git.
• Desirable knowledge of web app frameworks and semantic web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Work on data engineering projects using semantic technologies, ontologies, and knowledge graphs.
• Contribute to research and development, document scientific work and publications.
• Collaborate across internal and external teams and help with project ideas and digital product concepts.
