Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Technical Authority for Composite Manufacturing Process Development at the Global Technology Centre in Bristol. You will lead a team of research engineers, drive development and industrialisation of advanced composite processes, and ensure technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

The role requires extensive aerospace experience in composite manufacturing, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate with design, engineering and production.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in composite component manufacturing process development gained in the aerospace industry.
• Recognised as an individual with outstanding contributions to the composite component manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of composite material properties, manufacturing techniques and industry standards.
• Experience with ATI funded programs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of research engineers and specialists in composite manufacturing technologies.
• Develop and optimise composite manufacturing processes, including material selection and tooling methods.
• Drive innovation to improve product performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet GKN aerospace quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead strategically important projects with progress reporting and budget/schedule adherence.
• Collaborate with design, engineering and production for seamless technology integration.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Address technical challenges to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
