Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Research Engineer – Composite Manufacturing Processes to help shape the future of flight. You will join the GTC technology team to develop advanced composite manufacturing processes for current and future aircraft wing applications.

You will execute tasks with a logical approach, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to delivering high‑quality technical documentation while advancing technology across TRL1-6.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of composite manufacturing processes and materials.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, development or laboratory environments.
• Understanding of how process quality influences product performance.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Awareness of project planning, budgeting and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to project delivery by understanding product strategy and supporting Technology Development Plans and Business Cases.
• Plan and execute projects, maintain plans and budgets, and assist funding proposals as required.
• Lead or support development activities, including hands-on testing and recording results with high-quality documentation.
• Achieve objectives through collaboration and coordination across teams and stakeholders.
• Engage with internal teams, customers and suppliers to identify opportunities for technology exploitation.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and high-performing working environment, championing EH&S standards.
