Job summary

Omega Plc in Gloucestershire is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) to join their stand-out aerospace and advanced manufacturing division. You will lead the development of composite components, combining material science with robust manufacturing processes.

The role requires hands-on experience with carbon fiber composites, process improvement, and quality control in aerospace. Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and a proactive, analytical mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of composite manufacture and processing.
• Strong understanding of composite materials, particularly carbon fiber.
• Understanding quality control within aerospace.
• Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferable).
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving and creativity.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Support product design for manufacture as required.
• Create Routings and BoM's.
• Develop Process Sheets as required for Standard Procedures.
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and have an Inspection plan in place.
• Collaborate with Tooling Design to create Tooling Concepts / Requirements.
• Develop PFMEAs to identify and mitigate risks.
• Review production data and recommend improvements in quality control and efficiency.
• Support procurement with technical guidance.
• Support BD with quotations (methodology and costings).

THE ROLE

Manufacturing Engineer (Composites) This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stand-out aerospace engineering business as a Manufacturing Engineer in the development of aerospace components of a composite nature. As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you'll need to possess both understanding of composites materials and their properties and also have a strong manufacturing background including process and quality improvements. You'll need to be able to demonstrate key experience composite materials, with experience in carbon composites being highly desirable.

DUTIES

• Support product design for manufacture as required.
• Create Routings and BoM's.
